Kalobeyei Integrated Socio-Ecoomic Development Plan in Turkana West
The Kalobeyei Integrated Socio-Economic Development Plan (KISEDP) was devised to support a new approach aimed at establishing a settlement in a place called Kalobeyei in Turkana West, where both refugees and host populations would live together rather than in a separate refugee camp. Refugees Act, 2021
The Refugees Act 2021 repealed the Refugee Act 2006 signaling a break from the past in the management of refugees’ affairs in the Country in the spirit of embracing the spirit of the Global Compact on Refugees. The new Refugee Act provides for the recognition, protection, and management of refugees as per the 1951 United Nations Convention on the Status of the Refugees and the 1969 Organization of Africa Unity Convention governing key aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa.
